Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) commemorated World Mental Health Day on October 10 by launching the 'DHCC Mental Wellbeing Community Talks Programme.' This six-month initiative, in collaboration with the American Wellness Center, aims to provide a platform for DHCC community members and the public to engage in discussions about mental health, share knowledge, and exchange personal experiences. Building upon the Mental Health Programme initiated by the Dubai Healthcare City Authority in 2018, this program seeks to empower diverse communities across Dubai to enhance their mental health and overall well-being.
Dr. Muhammad Tahir, Chairman of the Board at the American Wellness Center in DHCC, emphasized the importance of community engagement in mental health initiatives. He stated that involving residents through community-focused sessions is a crucial step toward eliminating the stigma associated with mental health and increasing awareness about the various treatment options available in the emirate.
