How we work

We provide outpatient care for mental health and have specialty programs designed to meet the unique needs of men, women, and older adults.

At American Wellness center our adult psychiatrists are trained to help patients in systematic approach.

  1. Evaluate.
The patient will come in for an evaluation. They will explain their symptoms, and a psychiatrist may use different tests in addition to structured interview to determine if they have mental health disorder. They may look at the patient's genetic history or run some cognitive tests to help find a cause of the illness or risk factors.
  2. Diagnosis.
The psychiatrist may use DSM-V criteria to classify condition and or make a diagnose.
  3. Treatment.
The psychiatrist will then make a comprehensive plan for the treatment of  the mental illness through many different treatment modalities. Including for not limited to medication management, individual psychotherapy, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT and or family therapy.
  4. Follow-up.
Patients should follow up with their psychiatrist to make sure they're doing well and ask about any questions or concerns they may have.
