If you are able to exercise frequently, building your muscle strength and flexibility as well as maintain a healthy weight you will experience reduced pain.  If you are a smoker I urge you to stop smoking with immediate effect.

What is the diagnosis of chronic back pain?

A patient will visit our clinic to have a consultation without Pain Specialists. We will arrange either X-ray, MRI, or CT scans depending on the severity of the case.  We will also conduct relevant blood tests and bone scan including nerve studies (EMG/NCV) where necessary.

What are the possible treatments to help my back pain?

At American Wellness Center we will always try an holistic approach in the first instance.  We have various physical therapy resources to us including, spinal decompression therapy (SDT), dry needling, exercises, traditional physiotherapy, shifting weight from lower back to correct usage of limbs.  In more severe cases we will prescribe medicines to reduce the pain alongside physiotherapy sessions, in critical cases we will advise surgery.
